SENIOR / MID-WEIGHT INTERIOR ARCHITECT

Louise Holt Design is looking to recruit a talented senior or mid-weight interior architect to join its team in south Oxfordshire, UK.

Joining a dynamic design studio you will be working as part of the team on a number of exciting high-end residential projects for private clients. These  include unique new build country houses in Oxfordshire, Cotswolds, Berkshire and Cornwall along with elegant houses in London.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in the  luxury interior design industry and have experience of working on projects from concept to completion. They should have very strong technical skills in Vectorworks, SketchUp and Adobe together with excellent team working and interpersonal skills.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • joining a small design studio at senior or mid-level (depending on experience) in a permanent role. Reporting to the managing director of the company

  • experience to deliver all RIBA Stage 4 drawing packages for the interior schemes under the supervison of the managing director

  • working as part of a team or individually across projects

  • attending regular meetings with clients and suppliers along with meetings on site

  • producing CAD technical drawings for room plans, sections and elevations and drawing up interior details of rooms to show design intent

  • producing concept presentations and mood boards including concept imagery and material samples

  • sourcing interior architectural fixtures and finishes. Selecting materials and considering fitness for purpose. Creating presentations to demonstrate alternative options for clients and design team

  • sourcing all the FF&E, materials and finishes necessary to complete full interior design schemes

  • designing bespoke joinery and creating schedules for tender packages

  • creating full interior design schemes and producing presentations and costing budgets of chosen FF&E

  • liaising with suppliers on ordering, scheduling and installation of FF&E packages

  • liaising with suppliers to quality control and curate bespoke pieces

  • undertake regular site visits throughout the duration of the project and completion of minutes

  • liaising with the larger design team and contractor to ensure that the design and quality are executed as per specifications and are of the highest standard.

  • overseeing the installation of all FF&E

WHAT WILL YOU NEED

  •  must have at least four plus years’ post-graduate experience in the high-end residential sector

  • degree in interior design/interior architecture

  • experience of the full interior design process

  • proficiency using Vectorworks/AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite and working on a MAC

  • strong organisational skills

  • excellent communication skills including verbal, written, and visual presentation

  • exceptional attention to detail

  • have a contemporary design outlook

  • ability to work from concept to completion on your own or as part of a team

  • ability to work flexibly across and number of projects at the same time

  • ability to work effectively both individually as well as part of a team

  • be experienced and confident in creating specification schedules

  • a good technical understanding of construction and onsite construction experience

  • excellent knowledge of suppliers and experience in sourcing interior architectural finishes and fixtures

  • commercially minded in managing budgets with good problem-solving skills

  • positive outlook and a great work ethic

  • organised approach to work and tracking and recording your time

  • a full driving licence and access to own car for site visits
